Engineering Division

The Absolute Engineering team take pride in their expertise and reputation when it comes to heavy equipment. From dump trucks to draglines they are problem solvers who can extend the life of a machine with thorough scheduled maintenance work or reclamation of a part, help a client meet a deadline with the manufacture of replacement parts or come up with a practical engineering solution that gets a piece of equipment up and running fast.

Their state of the art facility in Paget is well equipped with the latest technology including a variety of CNC machines for precision machining, large capacity lathes, mills that can handle up to 10 tonnes on the table and a vertical borer which can swing work pieces up to 2.24 metre in diameter and 1600mm in height. In late 2014 they will introduce a robot welding cell which will dramatically increase overall capacity, quality and speed of production.

Absolute have built their reputation on delivering quality, precision work on budget and on time. Their qualified, highly experienced team of machinists, boilermakers and fitters has more than 175 years combined experience on heavy equipment and pride themselves on attention to detail and quality finish. Every job that leaves the workshop is quality checked to ensure it is within OEM specification and customer requirements.

Scheduled Maintenance
Absolute carry out general maintenance and scheduled maintenance work on equipment ranging from dump trucks and loaders to draglines and conveyors. They have contracts with major mining companies and can also provide cooling services to offer a one stop service that reduces downtime and costs.

Service Exchange parts
Absolute works with Original Equipment Manufacturers such as Hitachi, Hastings Deering (Caterpillar) and Komatsu to provide service exchange parts for heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers and dump trucks. Their attention to detail is second to none and they carry an extensive range of exchange components in their Mackay workshop.

Part Manufacture
When a vital piece of heavy equipment is out of operation because of part failure, time is critical. On a regular basis the Absolute engineering team use their innovative approach and problem solving skills to get equipment back to work. When a part is unavailable, on back order or no longer in production they can manufacture a replacement part or reclaim an existing part. When an existing part fails they can design and manufacture a part or come up with an engineering solution that gets the equipment up and running fast.

Part Reclamation
On every piece of heavy machinery there are moving components that wear faster or don’t cope with the onsite workload, Absolute regularly work with clients to reclaim and rebuild components from pivot points on loader buckets and booms to the shafts and seal areas on conveyor equipment.
